614 Nuthatch Drive

Placer Valley, Park County, Colorado (2012)

This was designed as a custom vacation home for a family from Kansas. This high-altitude site offers stunning views of Mount Lincoln and Bross, but was steep and narrow. The 600' long driveway gains 60' of elevation, with two switchbacks. The focus of the house was the Great Room, which was designed to bring the outside in, with large expanses of windows. Local historic mine buildings provided the inspiration for the materials and details.
